Better to be lucky than good?

In the world of science, it may well be better to be lucky than good.  You can be a very diligent scientist, but sometimes you just get lucky and discover something extraordinary by chance!

But when you are good, luck often shines on you, anyway.  I consider myself lucky, but often the lucky things that happen (eg. a well timed job offer), are the result of being good earlier (networking, helping, hard work). I think you make your own luck – like the Lucksmiths.

It’s easier to be good when you’re lucky!

Does this mean someone has offered you a job?

No, was thinking about my first real job – just feeling lucky at the moment! I’ve got more than enough work now – paid and unpaid!
